How the Omaha band was born

In 2004, life brought performer Doc James to Omaha, NE, as he traded in the culture-saturated European continent for the chance to plant his funk-master seeds in the plains of the Midwest. In 2007, he partnered up with Damorah Caliente to form Damodoc Productions LLC.  These two vocalists, composers, arrangers, producers, and now business partners maintain their own individual music schedules while creating the company’s marquis act: The Doc James Band featuring Honey.

Damorah now leads the power-driven female trio "Honey". She also performs solo work, and has performed with Mr. Chuck Pennington, the conductor of Mannheim Steamroller, and the Confidentials from Omaha Nebraska.

Doc has found himself performing with a monster group of musicians that now make up the mega-funk/jazz grooves of the Doc James Band, and has done solo work in Florida, the Bahamas, and Las Vegas, at a variety of resorts, casinos, cruises, and nightclubs. Recently, he did a stint as frontman for the Omaha-based rock cover-band Fusion.
